Boston BuildHERS is committed to maintaining a robust Corporate Health and Safety Program across all stages of its operations. This program reflects a strong commitment to eliminating personal injuries and workplace hazards, as well as safeguarding the public whenever they come into contact with or are affected by the Company’s work. While the success of the health and safety program relies on the cooperation of every employee, it is management’s responsibility to ensure that safety practices and procedures are both comprehensive and properly enforced. Boston BuildHERS' program is designed to meet the minimum safety standards in compliance with OSHA regulations.
In addition to having an in-house corporate safety officer, all field personnel must complete the OSHA 10-hour training program. Furthermore, Boston BuildHERS’ corporate safety officer conducts site visits throughout various stages of the construction process.
Hi-Vis Attire is mandatory on every Boston BuildHERS project.
Any employee involved in traffic control or flagging shall have proper signage and be adequately trained in flagging procedures.
Vehicular and Pedestrian Traffic shall be protected from any hazards generated by construction activities. Project areas will be isolated using fencing, temporary walls, canopy protection and jersey barriers with barricade flashers. Adequate signage will be utilized any time the work impacts the layout of public areas. Any hoses or cords in active traffic lanes shall be protected by hose/cable ramps and will have signage and hi-vis marking to prevent trip hazard to the public.
A debris net is required in areas where overhead work poses a significant hazard to any public areas and other methods of falling material protection are not utilized. Floor to 60” netting protection is required.
Extra precautions must be taken for any work that occurs outside of the main construction areas. All Trade Partners are required to utilize cones and temp barriers, with enough consideration to accommodate for dropped materials or tools. In the same fashion, all tools and materials shall be tethered in accordance with the new ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 standard on tool and equipment tethering products designed for use in the occupational safety sector by the American National Standards Association (ANSI).
Abatement work shall take place under full containment. Any work involving hazardous chemicals may require full containment and adequate air filtering controls.
